The effect of self- and interpersonal emotion regulation on athletes’ anxiety and goal achievement in competition

There exists a wealth of evidence that athletes must regulate their emotions for optimal performance and wellbeing. In addition to athletes’ attempts own emotions, they may also attempt each other’s (interpersonal emotion regulation). Though self- interpersonal regulation likely co-occur, previous research has not explored how these strategies concurrently impact outcomes. the current study, we examined whether emotional self-regulation receipt from teammates were related anxiety goal achievement during competition.
